The men’s lacrosse team took on the St. Lawrence Saints Saturday, and despite a strong first half, the Red Hawks still came out on the wrong end of a 7-4 margin.

Peter Blake of the Saints began the scoring with 12:45 left in the first quarter, but that was the only goal for the Saints in the period. At the 8:50 mark, Lucas Ruglis scored on Saints goalie Stephen Salotti, followed closely by a goal from Nick Culotti, assisted by Ryan Frisch.

The Saints started the second quarter with a goal by Rob Russell only 52 seconds in. This was followed by goals from the Red Hawks’ Frisch and Tom Haff. Before the quarter was out, though, Dan Usat of St. Lawrence began the Saints’ comeback with 8:27 left in the quarter.

The scoring for the entire second half was sorely one-sided. In the third quarter, there were three goals by the Saints, one from Tim Loveless, assisted by Blake, and two by Russell, assisted on one by Loveless, and on the other by Usat. In the fourth quarter, Loveless rounded out the win with a goal at the 7:33 mark, completing the St. Lawrence comeback.

The loss puts the Red Hawks at 5-6 for the season and 1-4 in the UCAA. Their final game of the year will take place on Saturday at 7 pm at Union.
