The cross country team continued its winning ways on Saturday, with the women’s squad taking home the Engineers’ Cup. The men placed second at the meet, losing to MIT.

Teams from RPI, MIT, and WPI compete each year for the cup. RPI hosted this year’s event at Saratoga Spa State Park on Sunday.

For the women, RPI had six of the top eight runners. Katie Roden finished just under the 19-minute mark to place first overall. Kate Adams was the second-place finisher, and Alysson Soja, Alyssa Coffey, and Cara O’Toole rounded out the RPI scorers, placing fifth through seventh, respectively.

On the men’s side, MIT swept the top three spots. Justin Jablonowski was RPI’s top finisher; his 27:41 finish was good for fourth place. John Bonnet was fifth at 27:50. The other RPI scorers were Duane Crammond (12th, 28:26), Mark Jensenius (16th, 29:01), and Pete Warrington (21st, 29:51).

The next competition for both squads will be the Middlebury Invitational on Saturday.
