Sam Palmisano, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IBM, receives an honorary degree in humane letters and speaks as part of the Presidential Lecture series. The talk will be held in the Biotech auditorium from 3:30–5 pm.

Latin Heritage month opens with a reception and a speaker hosted by Alianza Latina. The event starts at 7:30 pm at Mother’s in the Union.

UPAC Comedy presents an evening of mystical intrigue with a Hypnosis Show in the Union McNeil Room at 8 pm. The event is free.

Folk musician Bill Stains performs at Mother’s in the Union from 8–10 pm. Both students and their guests will be admitted free.

Saturday

The Air Force ROTC sponsors the 10th Annual Run to Remember, a 5K road race for charity. The race’s proceeds will benefit AMVETS, an organization that benefits veterans. Registration is required and can be done starting at 8 am at the Houston Field House. The race starts at 9 am in the same location.

UPAC presents UPAC Mainstage, an evening of concerts, comedy, and cinema. The event is free and begins at 7:30 pm in the McNeil Room.

Sheer Idiocy performs their unique blend of improv comedy in Mother’s at 7:30 pm. The event is free.

The Rolling Stones perform on stage for one night only at the Pepsi Arena starting at 7:30 pm. Tickets are priced at $351, $161, $100 and $61, and can be purchased at http://www.ticketmaster.com/, by phone at 476-1000, or the Pepsi Arena box office.

Circle K sponsors a golf tournament to benefit the RPI chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Proceeds will go toward building affordable housing in Troy. For more information, contact circlek@union.rpi.edu.

The C+CC presents guitar masters William Simcoe and Marcus Vinicius at 8 pm. Simcoe, a Center favorite, will play classical guitar while Italian guitar master Vinicius will cap the show as part of a rare visit to the Americas. For more information, contact J. Eric Smith at 274-7793
