“The key to unlock the device is in the stomach of your dead soul mate.” Well, if this sounds terrifying to you, then sit tight, because in Saw you will see more than your eyes can bear!
If you’re scared of clowns, or being tied up in a chair with a brain squeezing time activated device attached to your mouth, then I suggest reconsidering buying popcorn. There is no way you will be able to walk out of the film without losing your appetite after seeing all of its bloodshed and violence. Even macho guys will end up squealing like little girls after watching this movie.
Filled with extreme bloodshed and physical torture, Saw is a blockbuster film directed by James Wan and starring Cary Elwes as Dr. Lawrence Gordon and Danny Glover as Detective David Tapp. It has been raved for its many gruesome scenes that guarantee tears of horror. Not only that, but the “whodunit” plot keeps the audience guessing throughout the film. Even if you are an expert at speculating films out there, I bet you won’t be able to solve this one!
One unique feature of this film is its unconventional setting. A majority of which takes place where you would least expect—in a bathroom. I was amazed to find how many interesting things could possibly happen to you in a bathroom; like being chained to the wall with a man shot in the head lying in a puddle of blood right in front of your eyes.
Think it couldn’t get any worse? Well, how about if you had someone watching you on a two-way mirror, threatening you to kill the man next to you in order to save your own life?
It gives me the creeps just recollecting all those heart-rentching moments in this film that continue to give me the chills even now as I write this review. Never had I experienced such a clutter of emotions, from confusion and anxiety to an “Oh wow—I had no idea!” shock.
On the down-side, the moral of this story seems a little bit vague, or if not vague, unconvincing. It’s almost impossible to accept that there are lunatics out there attempting to teach you the meaning of life by making you experience near-death episodes. Then again, how often do you identify with the extreme characters in a horror movie? I personally have a hard time.
Saw is a superb horror suspense film filled with alot of blood splatter. It will keep you guessing and surprise you with the number of ways that people get it.
You are definitely in for a shock when you watch this movie. I was! In fact, I was so scared that I ended up watching a chick flick to help me get my mind off this movie before I slept.
