Proctors Theatre in Schenectady presents Contact: The Musical at 8 pm. The play itself tells two stories. The first portrays two men competing for a woman and the second story involves a mob boss and his wife in an unhappy marriage.

The Computer Science department presents a colloquia entitled “Algorithms for Distributed and Mobile Sensing.” Refreshments will be served at 3:30, while the lecture begins at 4 pm.

The C+CC presents a solo piano performance by Michael Century, featuring Morton Feldman’s “Triadic Memories” and projections of Middle Eastern carpet images. The show begins at 8 pm.

Third World, School Bus Yellow, and I.M.I perform at Northern Lights in Clifton Park at 7:30 pm. The bands will provide a wide variety of music, from funk and reggae to rock.

Albany’s Pepsi Arena presents “Thunder Nationals” monster truck racing at 8 pm, with another show Sunday at 2 pm. Tickets are $18 for adults and $5 for kids.

The Egg in Albany celebrates Ernie Williams’ 80th birthday. The Ernie Williams Band, The Nobby Reed Project, Professor Louie and the Crowmatrix, and Captain Squeeze and the Zydeco Moshers will provide music for the celebration.

Proctors Theatre presents Cats, Broadway’s longest running show of all time and now no longer showing regularly. Curtains are at 2 and 8 pm.

Michael Tolcher performs hip-hop, groove, and rock-inspired pop at Northern Lights in Clifton Park at 7 pm. Best known for his uplifting songs “Mission Possible” and “I Am,” Tolcher will provide his own mix of soul and “urban grooves.”

The CDC’s program “Navigating a Career Fair” will be held in the CDC Café from 5 pm - 6 pm. Learn what to do before, during, and after the upcoming Career Fair to be held in the Biotech Center on February 2, 12 pm-6 pm.

FYE sponsors a ski trip to Willard Mountain for first-year students. Enjoy a day of skiing or snow boarding, for a fraction of the cost. Transportation, food, entertainment, and lessons will be provided. $10 for ski lift tickets only while equipment rentals are $5 extra. Sign up in 4100 Academy Hall.
