Several RPI students have been chosen to learn a thing or two from Frankie Bones at Table Tactics, a showcase of local collegiate musical talent. The event, open to the public will be held on Thursday at 10 pm at Nick’s Sneaky Pete’s in Albany.
A much anticipated showcase of local talent, Table Tactics features world-renowned DJ, Frankie Bones, whose intense mixing is said to put you on a roller coaster ride through an electrified atmosphere. Table Tactics, put on by Red Bull Energy Drink and Sneaky Pete’s, will provide the small, but highly dedicated DJ community in the region, a chance to “bro down” with other enthusiasts of the DJ culture from around the area. The students will have the opportunity to share and to showcase their talent, as well as to get some pointers from one of the best, Frankie Bones.
The RPI students, along with other DJ talents from neighboring schools-Siena, Union, SUNY Albany, and Skidmore-will have a chance to learn from Bones in a laid back “Beats Seminar.” Bones has over 15 years experience spinning records across the United States and Europe. His appearance behind the turntables has never failed to deliver a dynamic mix of sound.
Bones has emerged as, and has remained, a leader in a niche where most others have come and gone. He is considered the most visible DJ and tastemaker of New York’s scene. His style has frequently imitated but never duplicated. Bones has a truly one of a kind sound.
In addition to the DJs, the Motion Pro’s, a break-dance crew out of Boston, will also be performing at Table Tactics.
For anyone interested in seeing the showcase, the doors at Sneaky Pete’s will open at 10 pm and five students from the community will be chosen by Bones and Red Bull to spin their own sounds. Admission to the show will be $5 for those over 18 and $7 for those under 18.
