YWCA technology lab

The ongoing effort to bring technology to the community around Rensselaer took another leap forward last week with the opening of the Community Technology Lab in the Troy-Cohoes YWCA. The lab includes nine computers donated by the city of Troy that will be used to teach classes on technology use.

One of the current goals of the new lab is the creation of an online resource directory to help women in the area find the help they need from social service groups. RPI interns will also be using the lab to create presentations that bring social-justice issues to light, such as hunger and violence against women.
