ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, RPI WOMEN’S SOCCER FACED OFF against the Mount Holyoke Lyons at the East Campus Stadium. The Engineers unleashed an attack on the Lyons’ goal early and often. But, nine shots on goal, including two from senior midfielder Taylor Korytko and three from sophomore forward Cori Winslow, resulted in nine saves for Holyoke goalie Zoe Marshall. In the second half, the Holyoke defense broke down, allowing two RPI goals in a span of 10 minutes. In the 62nd minute, Korytko scored from the left side of the box assisted by Winslow. Then in the 70th minute, junior forward Kate Edwards scored off a cross from freshman defender Stephanie May. The final score was 2-0 favoring RPI. Women’s soccer will travel to the University of Rochester on September 27 at 7 pm.
