From March 9–15, the RPI Ski Team competed in the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association national championships. The championships took place at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, New York. Overall, the team finished in a tie for 10th with St. Olaf College and Babson College out of 19 teams. For the individual combined, top performers for RPI were senior Jared Foster, junior Ryan Kresser, and senior Paul Koetke, who placed 28th, 29th, and 44th, respectively.
Individual events within the competition were the giant slalom and slalom. In the slalom each competitor had two runs and the winner was the person with the lowest total time. For RPI, Foster finished in 33rd with a time of 1:50:25 and Kresser finished in 36th with a time of 1:51:82. Then, in the giant slalom, after being unable to finish his first run in the slalom, Koetke highlighted the giant slalom competition for RPI. With a time of 2:06:63, Koetke finished in 10th place, just three and a half seconds behind the first place finisher, Rocky Mountain College’s Nils Hogbom.
