PSS: an irishman walks into a bar…

THIS WEEK, THE CLUBHOUSE PUB IS DECKED out in green shamrocks to celebrate St. Patrick’s Week. Various Irish-themed events are taking place each night. Pub Manager Martha McElligott said “We’re all Irish during St. Patrick’s Week.” Bartenders are wearing tuxedos and green bowties to get into the spirit. On Monday, the actual date of St. Patrick’s Day, Guinness and wings was served. Throughout the week, green dye is available to make the Guinness green. Monday was a real success, with the pub burning through an entire keg of Guinness. Tuesday Trivia this week included a question about the holiday’s patron saint. On Tuesday, the pub had live Irish music performed by the Joyce Brothers Band following trivia. Don and Larry Joyce, of the Joyce Brothers Band, have been playing Irish music together for almost 30 years. Graduate student Benno Lee, who attended the event, said, “I love Irish bands.”
