PSS: RPI hockey alum continues career

WHITNEY NASLUND ’10 SCANS the ice for an open teammate during a Boston Blades game last season. The Blades are part of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League, a professional women’s ice hockey league with teams in Boston; Montreal, Quebec; Toronto, Ontario; Brampton, Ontario; and Calgary, Alberta. After finishing with the best record in the league, the Blades defeated the Montreal Stars in a 5-2 decision to earn their first-ever Clarkson Cup—the women’s equivalent of the NHL’s Stanley Cup. Naslund, who finished the season with five goals and three assists, earned a helper on the Blades’ first goal of the championship match. The Bloomington, Minn., native scored 50 goals and earned 56 assists during 142 games with the Engineers, and was the first member of the team since its jump to Division-I to earn over 100 career points.
