The Cardinals stepped up their playing a bit in the second half, forcing one save on RPI goalie Andrea Hamill and two more on goalie Tara Marandino. The Red Hawks, by contrast, made eight shots on the goal, scoring three goals in the half. Six minutes into the period Gonyea made an unassisted goal. The second goal came at 27:29 as Liz Vitaliano made a header for Jessica Chetuck to slip past the goalie.
