The Men’s Soccer team ended their season on Saturday with a loss. The Red Hawk squad was shutout by a tough Brewers squad, 2-0.

The Rensselaer defense held strong through the first half, but Vassar’s Aldis Butler found the net on a cross from Aaron Ancel. RPI never got their offense going, and was stung again late in the game by Chris Schreiber. Kenny Guzzardo made four saves in the loss for the Red Hawks.

RPI finished the season with a 7-5-2 record, a vast improvement from last season. Their 2-3-2 record in conference play, though, was not good enough to advance to the UCAA playoffs, and the team is holding on to hope for the ECAC tournament.

The outlook for next season, though is very good with many stars returning. Freshman Ed Sellito, who was named UCAA Player of the Week twice this season, will be anchoring the returners as the Men’s Soccer squad hopes for continued improvement.
