Jon Slason
Interfraternity Council Vice President for Public Relations

In the Interfraternity Council there has been activity concerning the events that have occurred in the Student Senate and those concerning the rights of our fellow greek students. In the coming week, the Interfraternity Council looks to also affirm the rights of our greek Students by passing a resolution that would condemn the actions of the Troy Police Department that not only showed deliberate targeted action against Rensselaer students, but Rensselaer greek students.

In other news in the greek community, it is time to take part in our student government. The Interfraternity Council is now taking nominations at the General Council. This week will be the second round of nominations. The IFC E-board is essential and ensures the continuation of greek life at RPI. Getting more people actively involved will continue our strong history of solid self-governance, which has always made us the envy of other Interfraternity councils nationwide.

Taking part in student government is the easiest way for students to put forth ideas to change things where they see problems. In the past, the greek student life has been one of the strongest influences on campus issues and we hope to continue that well into the future. This is your chance to make a difference.
