It’s 10:30 on a Wednesday night and you’re working on your latest computer science project. You’re starving. What you wouldn’t give for a piece of pizza, right?

You go about checking your wallet and discover you don’t have enough cash to pay for a delivery. So, you think you’re out of luck? Think again.

Welcome to the recently introduced late-night dining service located at Russell Sage Dining Hall Monday through Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 pm.

If you are on a meal plan here at RPI, then you might be surprised to find out that most plans include late-night dining.

Platinum, Gold, Emerald, and Silver plans all include the late-night option. The beauty of it all is the cost: zero dollars if you are on one of the supported plans.

When you go to visit, your choices include pizza, hamburgers, fries, and a main course or two. You also have your typical selection of fruit and unlimited drinks which is especially nice if you have a sudden need for caffeine.

The quality of the food is good, utilizing both newly prepared meals and leftovers from the 7 pm dinner. Fortunately, the leftovers are a pleasant surprise, and don’t make you wish you had a car to drive to the local Burger King.

If you’re in the Quad, late-night dining is especially convenient. You’re only minutes away from a fabulous meal.

If for some reason you missed dinner because of an evening chock full of classes, then this is your chance to grab your daily sustenance and make your stomach feel much, much better.

Late-night dining seems to be doing quite well up to this point, with people filling the dining hall in the late hours of the night. Its popularity truly underscores the quality of food we are getting on this campus and the specialized dining services available to students.

So, the next time you’re up in your dorm room and you are thinking of ordering some pizza or hamburgers for delivery, make your way down to the Russell Sage Dining Hall to get your late-night dining instead. You won’t be disappointed.
