Here we are, racing toward the end of another semester. We watch as some of our fellow students celebrate graduation as a voyage into the next part of their lives. For the rest of us, it is the continuation of our passage through higher education, as we strive to achieve our own success. For many of us, this is all-consuming, and we are often caught in a whirlwind of schoolwork, job hunting, and extracurricular activities. This rush at the end of the semester often leaves everyone without time to stop and reflect upon their accomplishments.
I would like to take a moment to express my excitement in anticipation of our work together over the next year as we endeavor to change and enrich our collegiate experience. Before we move any further, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the effort and hard work of a few people who have positively influenced my life this year, and to briefly thank those who have helped and supported me along the way.
Thank you Mom, Dad, Ben, Tony, and of course Suzie, Erin, and Alexis! Gil, I only look forward to next year. You enthusiasm and energy will bring about greatness. Thanks to the Apollo Party, your hard work and dedication are without comparison. Thanks to the Union Administration Office, Joe, Lucas, Peter, and Sue for all your knowledge and support. Your experience is invaluable. I greatly appreciate the support of both the Mueller Center and the Athletic Department.
I applaud the work of the RNE and GM Week committees. Your dedication to student leadership and the Rensselaer community is clear. Thank you to The Poly, IFC, and Panhellenic communities for the opportunity to express my ideas. I hope that we can continue to work together throughout the year to strive towards positive change. And last but certainly not least, thanks to the entire student body. I am honored that you have chosen me to represent your voice. I will do my best to be an accurate representative of our student body, and work hard to support you as well as you have supported me.
I intend to use this medium to keep you well informed of the activities within the Union. I openly invite and welcome your feedback or comments relating to these issues. I look forward to the upcoming year and the opportunity to continue working with students, faculty, and staff, and to develop relationships with those I have yet to work with.
