Both the men and women’s cross country teams finished in second place this past weekend at the Engineers’ Cup, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, out of a three-team field that also included Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Graduate student Chris Donais posted a time of 26:46 in the men’s 8k race, good enough to grab the Liberty League’s Male Performer of the Week in cross country and to snag second place overall out of 43 runners. Sophomore Chris Frank ranked eighth with a time of 27:22, as classmate Leo Pavlosky rounded out the top 10 with a time of 27:40.
On the women’s side, junior Erin Kyle placed fifth of 30 in the 5k race with a time of 20:06. Kyle also garnered Liberty League honors, taking the Female Performer of the Week for cross country. Sophomore Christine Koch finished eighth with a time of 20:31, while junior Ariel Hubert finished 10th with a time of 20:45.
Cross country hits the trails again this weekend at the Footrace at Fort Ticonderoga, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., with the first race beginning at 11 am.
