The men’s golf team competed at the 2008 Duke Nelson Golf Tournament, hosted by Middlebury College. Of the 22-team field, RPI placed seventh in a competition ultimately won by rival Skidmore College. Leading the way for the Red Hawks, who held a total of 618 strokes after two days, was freshman Tayler Wetherby, who finished fifth overall with a score of 148. Senior Matt Neeley finished second on the team and tied 35th overall with a score of 156.

After the weekend’s play, Wetherby was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week in golf for his spectacular performance in Middlebury, Vt.

The next match is scheduled for next Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28, for the Liberty League Championships held locally in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
