The Women’s Lacrosse team has amassed a 3-1 record during their stay in Florida. They won their first three games of the season before falling to Ithaca College in West Palm Beach on Friday.

After two victories in the northeast to start the season, the Red Hawks headed south to play Curry College and Ithaca in the sun. RPI first defeated Curry in an exciting 15-12 game. It was truly a team effort for the Red Hawks as nine different players had goals in the Wednesday afternoon contest. It was a tight game as the teams traded goals through the beginning of the game while RPI pulled ahead 7-5 at the half.

The Red Hawks quickly scored two goals after the break and soon had five unanswered goals with a 14-11 lead with under seven minutes to play. Sophomore Ariana Hood had a good showing as netminders stopping 12 shots in her third win of the season.

Two days later, the team lost 18-8 against the Ithaca Bombers in a morning game as RPI fell to 3-1 on the season, while the Bombers improved to 1-1.

The team travels to Oneonta State on Wednesday for a 3 pm game.
