The RPI women’s basketball team lost in the first round of their Liberty League playoffs to a strong William Smith College team. The 64-53 loss meant the Red Hawks finished the season 12-13 overall, 7-7 in the league, while the Herons improved to 24-2 overall and 13-1 in the league.

William Smith scored not only scored the first seven points but quickly ran up a 14-point lead with 3:37 left in the first half. Heading into the lockers, the Herons led 30-16 as the visiting Red Hawks shot just 18.8 percent from the floor in the first half.
