Three teens have been indicted on felony charges, accused of robbing people at gunpoint in the neighborhoods around the RPI campus during September.

The charges are the result of three robberies that occurred on September 30 on 4th, 5th, and Eagle streets. Two of the men face weapons charges for allegedly displaying handguns during the robberies.

Randy Jones, 19, of Albany was indicted on counts of first and second-degree robbery, second-degree attempted robbery, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and third-degree conspiracy.

Jamel Cowan, 17, of Watervliet faces the same charges, but the conspiracy charge against him is in the fourth degree.

Javion Wright, 19, of Troy was charged with second-degree attempted robbery and third-degree conspiracy.

All three were arraigned and sent to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
