Alien Ant Farm’s debut album Anthology, released on March 6, features the songs "Wish" and "Movies" which were on the promo CD I reviewed. I thought these songs were good.

The band is made up of Dryden Mitchell (vocals), Terry Corso (guitar), Mike Cosgrove (drums), and Tye Zamora (bass). The band members take their music very seriously and enjoy every minute of it. Anthology was produced by Jay Baumgardner, whose credits include Papa Roach, Orgy, Slipknot, and Coal Chamber. Corso calls the disc "new, emotional, romantic, yet totally metal." That is the perfect description of "Wish" and "Movies." These songs are therapy for the band according to Mitchell, who writes the lyrics.

"Wish" is an angry song about being dumped, and it is a depressing song. The song lets the listener in on what is going on in the heartbroken individual’s mind.

I really liked the song "Movies." This track is much more pleasant and has a good beat. I think that this song complements "Wish" because I feel that the heartbroken individual has now gotten over the bad break-up and has a sense of relief.

The members of Alien Ant Farm gravitated toward each other after looking for other talented artists in California and got together as a band in 1996. Corso thought of the band name while he was sitting at work bored and thought about how cool it would be if humans were cultivated by an alien intelligence—maybe the aliens watch the earth much like we watch the ants in an ant farm.

The band has a great time playing together because they are all good friends, and good things can be expected from Anthology. If you like the sound of the Deftones and POD, you may want to pick up a copy of Anthology.
