I was greatly encouraged to read Marcus Griep’s editorial “Alumni Create Connections” in The Poly this past week. The Office of Alumni Relations has been making a concerted effort to proactively engage students in alumni chapter programs, on-campus events, and through the Red and White Student Organization, as well as the ongoing Class of 2007 Gift Campaign to refurbish the 15th Street footbridge. In fact, thousands of current students have already participated in their first alumni program with the Rensselaer Alumni Association. I am glad that Marcus and other students had a good experience in New York City.
