Dwaine Alleyne earned UCAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honors on the heels of being named the Field Event MVP of the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Indoor Championship.
Alleyne earned these honors by winning the triple jump with a mark of 14.57 meters, breaking his own school record. In addition to the record, the jump also qualified him for the NCAA meet. He then went on to win the 55-meter hurdles, setting a new school record with a time of 7.67 seconds and placed sixth in the pentathlon with a score of 3026, leading RPI to a second-place finish.
The team also dominated the UCAA’s All-Academic team, earning more spots than all of the other schools combined. In order to qualify for the team a student athlete must be considered a major contributor to the team and must have a minimum GPA of 3.2.
