Add fun to your life

Adam Marcus
Independent Council

I would like to thank everyone that came by the games room on Friday for the Independent Council’s Open Games Room night in the union. It was a huge success, with over 75 people crammed into the games room 9 pm through 12 am. I also want to apologize if you had to wait a while to get a table or bowling lane—I suppose that is to be expected with the massive turnout at the event.

The IC refuses to stop the fun, however, as we will be participating in Go Be Red’s Midway Carnival on November 12. Each participating group is to host one activity, and we will be sponsoring our biannual pool tournament, in the games room. Participation is free, so come by for some free food and rock out with your pool stick out! We’ll be giving you more details as we approach the date.

As we hit the middle of the semester, make sure to complement your long nights of studying and homework with some fun events. If you are looking for something to do, go to http://events.rpi.edu/. While I’m not here to endorse GBR, they have a good calendar of fun events at http://gobered.union.rpi.edu/. If you do not feel like you are enjoying your Rensselaer experience, try to add some flavor with a small break to relax from your workload.

As always, the IC meets Tuesdays at 9 pm in the Rensselaer Union’s Student Government Suite. If you want more information, go to http://independent.union.rpi.edu/ or e-mail me at marcua@rpi.edu.
