Rahul Parwani
Undergraduate Council President

I would like to congratulate the class of 2009 on their recent elections and all the members of the class of 2009 council. The class council has various duties throughout its four years at RPI, many of which students aren’t aware of. Each class council coordinates a number of events and projects for the class for the students of their respective class. All class council members take time out of their day to help plan events and contribute to their class. Some major projects the classes organize are the class rings, class gift, commencement speaker, yearbook, class tree, and senior week. There are so many more things these classes do for their classmates which I don’t even have room to fit.

The senior class is planning senior week and could use everyone’s help in it. For anyone who doesn’t know what each class is doing, there is only one way to find out, and that is to ask. There is a class e-mail which each president uses in order to update the class. If you don’t get these e-mails, find out why you aren’t. Go to the registrar to make sure that you are in that class, and then contact the class presidents and FYE to be put on the list. These e-mails should not be deleted; they are there to help everyone learn about the class and what it is doing.

It doesn’t matter what class year you are; each class is looking for your help and wants more feedback from their classmates. It doesn’t matter if you’re a freshman and just want to learn more about your class and what it does, or a graduating senior. I especially want tell my classmates, the class of 2006, to help out even if you haven’t during the past three years. This is your last chance to help the class council and voice your opinion. It is never too late to help the class and be heard. If you have any questions or want to know more, contact your class president or myself, at uc@rpi.edu">uc@rpi.edu.
