Undergraduate Council
UC needs your input and support

Rahul Parwani
Undergraduate Council President

Like everyone else, I’d like to welcome you all back to RPI. Hopefully you gathered from the byline that I am Rahul Parwani, the current president of the Undergraduate Council. I wish to remind you that your respective class council and the Undergraduate Council are working hard to improve your undergraduate experience at RPI. I urge you to participate and provide the much-needed input the councils need, as we cannot do this without your support. It doesn’t matter what year you are, each and every class could always use another helping hand.

The purpose of the Undergraduate Council is to oversee the four undergraduate class councils and act as their legislative body. The Undergraduate Council consists of two representatives from each of the class councils that work together on issues that affect you, the students. The UC also represents the undergraduate students at Rensselaer and serves as a forum for their concerns.

The Undergraduate Council can be contacted at uc@rpi.edu with any questions or concerns. Each class is doing a number of great things on campus from Go Be Red events to helping the seniors with their culminating year experience. I will be listing what each class has planned throughout the course of the semester in this article. That being said, the freshman class is having elections now, so I urge everyone to vote and support their classmates. I will be giving more updates when the newly elected class of 2009 is ready to get underway. Everyone should take part in what the class councils are doing for each class and I am looking forward to updating everyone on the events they will be holding in the future.
