THE HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE COMMITTEE PLACED 2560 flags in the ’86 Field on Tuesday. Each flag represented 5,000 people killed in the Holocaust, the systematic killing of 13 million civilians by the Nazis during World War II. This is the second year that the committee placed the flags in the field, having doubled the amount from last year.
