Posted 03-31-2005 at 8:09PM
Stephanie Tanous Director of Public Relations The members of Alpha Gamma Delta are holding their 14th annual Volleyball Tournament. It will be taking place on April 8 and 9 from noon to noon. Volleyball players of all talent levels are encouraged to participate. The first place winner will receive a cash prize of $200. All proceeds will benefit the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, diabetes research, education, and scholarships. To register, e-mail Kay at kambey@rpi.edu or leave a message at 276-3548.
Every year, Alpha Phi and RSE co-sponsor the Teeter-Totter-A-Thon on the Tuesday of GM Week, which this year is April 5. The event is a 24-hour philanthropy event, with the proceeds going to the Alpha Phi Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to encourage the highest ideal of womanhood and services, serve the educational mission of Alpha Phi, and be the premier philanthropy for the causes of women. Since 1946, the Alpha Phi Foundation has concentrated on women’s cardiac care. Please contact Susan Gareis at gareis@rpi.edu to pledge donations for this event.
Pi Beta Phi’s largest annual philanthropy event, Mr. RPI, will be held on April 5 in DCC 308 at 7:30 pm. All proceeds from admission go directly to local and national charities, including Pi Phi’s national philanthropy, the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. One contestant is chosen, by a group of faculty judges, to win the title of Mr. RPI along with a grand prize. This event consists of four different categories: evening wear, swim wear, question and answer, and a talent portion! Every year, Mr. RPI attracts over five hundred students, faculty, and alumni. Come join us to see some of RPI’s guys strut their stuff. | |
