To the anonymous person who turned my keys in to Public Safety on the Thursday before spring break:
It is refreshing to know that there are good people in this world. It sounds incredibly cliché, but these days, whenever you turn on your favorite media outlet, all you ever seem to hear is bad news. Well, today I’m happy to grace the Editorial section of The Polytechnic with some good news.
On the Tuesday before Spring Break, I lost my keys. That Tuesday was the day that classes were cancelled after 3 pm due to the fairly significant snowfall that occurred that day. On one of my treks into the white-painted landscape, I lost several very important keys. Needless to say, I was a bit worried. Most people who know me know that I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off for the next two days.
Many kind people, including friends and staff members, helped me search, but none were successful.
You, Mr. or Ms. Anonymous, however, came across my keys, and rather than trying to use them, opted to turn them in and substantially brighten my week.
In these times, we are led to believe that everyone we pass on the street or see on the television is out to get us. Thank you to the anonymous person who brought my keys to Public Safety for breaking that mold.
