Carol Scalice did at the ECAC Championship Meet on Saturday, March 5, in Canton, N.Y., exactly what she has done all year; win. The sophomore leaped a school-record 5.46 meters to take first in the long jump en route to being named Liberty League Co-Field Performer of the Week and provisionally qualifying for the NCAA national meet.

Marion Albert, who was chosen as Liberty League Rookie of the Week for the fifth straight week, helped the 4x400 team place second at the ECAC meet and reach an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:58.47. Sue Madden took fourth in the shot put to round out a solid day for the women’s track and field team.

On the men’s side, Kemar Brown, who was named Liberty League Track Performer of the Week for the fourth time this season, continued to excel as he won the 55-meter dash in a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.59 seconds. Brown also helped the 4x200 relay team take fourth. Brandon O’Toole also finished fourth in the pole vault, clearing 4.39 meters. Adedji Akindele-Alo finished fifth in the 55-meter hurdles to conclude the scoring for RPI.
