Introduction

Trevor Tersmette won both the 60-meter hurdles and the long jump, while Joe Otto took the top spot in the 1000-meter run in the Army Open at the United States Military Academy Saturday, January 29, in West Point, N.Y. The women’s team also had several winners in the meet, which featured no team scoring. Tersmette, who finished the hurdles in 8.61 seconds and soared 6.48 meters in the long jump, was named the Liberty League’s Co-Field Performer of the Week for the second straight week.

Carol Scalice won the long jump for the second straight week with a leap of 5.19 meters, Jen Dias took first in the 400-meter sprint, and Alysia Evanitsky’s time of 1:21.94 delivered the victory in the 500-meter dash for the Red Hawks. Teammates Scalice and Evanitsky both received recognition from the Liberty League. Scalice earned the Co-Field Performer of the Week reward while Evanitsky was honored Co-Track Performer of the Week. The Red Hawks will be back in action next Saturday, February 5, in Hanover, N.H. against the Dartmouth Big Green.
