IFC looks to ’05

Entering the spring semester, the IFC will have a new executive board. Kumar Jam­bunathan of Sigma Alpha Epsilon will head the board as president. Executive Vice President James Letteney from Pi Kappa Alpha is in charge of keeping all the committee chairs in line. Leading the social committee is Andre Hollings­worth, also of Pi Kappa Alpha. Acacia’s Santosh Vaghela will be overseeing the risk management committee. Spring and fall rush will be organized by Pi Kappa Alpha’s Sean Burns. I, Dan Dolinkskas of Lambda Chi Alpha, will be in charge of public relations. Philanthropy events will be under the guidance of Rahul Parwani from Phi Gamma Delta. Marcus Griep of Acacia will serve as the secretary. Financial matters will be handled by Treasurer Michael Senchyshyn, a Phi Kappa Theta brother. The greek Senator is Jennifer Conn­olley, an Alpha Phi sister. Repre­senting the Panhellenic council is Katie Price also from Alpha Phi. Lambda Chi Alpha’s Travis Lull is the Dean of Students’ Office greek advisor. Contact infor­mation can be found at the IFC website http://ifc.union.rpi.edu/executive_ board.php. The next IFC meeting will take place tonight, February 2, at 10 pm in the DCC room 330.

Join the Interfraternity Council on Friday, February 4, at 6 pm on freshman hill for a candlelight vigil. Candles will be sold and the proceeds will directly benefit the tsunami relief effort. Also on Friday night, Lambda Upsilon Lambda will be hosting a poetry slam in West Hall. Any questions regarding the poetry slam can be directed to meloe@rpi.edu. Two weeks from Thursday on February 17, Lambda Chi Alpha is hosting a dinner to benefit the tsunami relief effort through Americares. The dinner will take place in the Heffner Alumni House at 7 pm. Sodexho will be providing the food. Tickets will be on sale February 9-11 at the Rensselaer Union, and on February 14 during the student health fair at the Great Hall in the DCC. The cost to students is $11 and $15 for faculty and staff.
