Hey! Do you like skiing? Snowboarding? Are you incompetent like me, and prefer snow tubing and nursing your wounds in the ski lodge? If any of this interests you, the Ski Club, with help from the Union, has a deal you might be interested in.
Some of you may recall the popular “Snow Fiesta” from last semester and you also may recall an insane young man dressed in a poncho and sombrero. Well, it’s on again.
Open to the entire Rensselaer community, Snow Fiesta will kick off the season for the Ski Club, and at the same time, close the semester for classes. It is scheduled for the evening of Friday, December 10 departing at 4:30 and 5 pm. The destination is again Bousquet Mountain, and transportation, ski/snowboard rentals, lift ticket, beginner lessons, and dinner will be provided for the ridiculously low price of $15. Snow tubing is also available for those inclined. Sign ups are in the Union Administration and Ski Club offices. Hurry! We are filling up fast, and it is not legal to drop the price any lower.
This is an excellent way to end a hectic semester and have a blast with all your friends before break. A lot of uncool people ditch that Friday night. Don’t be one of them! Come with us, and ditch Saturday! Here is what one sophomoric young lady had to say about last year’s trip:
“I had a lot of fun at the snow fiesta last semester. It’s a great opportunity for anyone who would like to ski!”
A less literate senior IT major added this: “It was hot.”
From a junior studying aerospace and mechanical engineering, plagiarized from a high ranking Poly official: “Snow Fiesta was mostest fun I had all last year.”
Finally, a departing senior of computer systems engineering with a secure job outlook: “Mr. Leonard and I haven’t had that much fun since our last get together with Jeffrey!”
So, if you’re looking for a cheap, good time, and like me can’t get south of the border that night, come to Snow Fiesta – it will be “tiempo caliente” – Señor Nick promises!
