The Panhellenic Council is co-sponsoring a Drag Show with the Rensselaer Pride Alliance and the Interfraternity Council which will be this Friday, October 29. Acts will be entered by greeks and other groups on campus, and there will even be professional drag queens that will put on a show. It begins at 7:30 pm in the West Hall Auditorium. Admission is $5 and the proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern New York and the Damien Center, a counseling center in downtown Troy for people with HIV and AIDS. We encourage everyone to attend because not only will it be highly entertaining, but the money will go to two great causes.

Our major fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern New York this semester will be a walk on Saturday, November 6 at 11 am. The route of the walk will begin at the Commons, go down Burdett Avenue, over Tibbits Avenue to 15th Street, across Congress Street into Prospect Park and back. There will be a band waiting by the Commons to entertain the returning walkers (unless there is inclement weather) and food will be provided. It is $5 to sign up to walk and this fee will go directly to Make-A-Wish. You may sign up with any council member or by e-mailing krajej@rpi.edu. The first 200 to sign up will get a free t-shirt.

This week is Mental Health Week, presented by the Student Health Center. The Panhellenic Council is aiding the Health Center in promoting mental health awareness at a booth in the Union. A seminar on mental health was given on Tuesday night by speaker Ross Szabo.

Finally, the Panhellenic Council would like to thank Brian Dominguez for his work as Dean of Greek Life. We will miss him and wish him luck in future endeavors.
