My first ideas were, “tall, dark, and handsome,” but my friends objected, calling me “tallish, occasionally freckly, and not-ugly.” I didn’t like those, so I tried again. I decided persistence was a virtue I could claim. A friend said I was, “easy to talk to,” and so I added that. Finally, I realized I was experienced, having been in student government, and even serving on my city’s School Board.
