folk re-energized

Victor Parkinson/The Polytechnic EDDIE FROM OHIO BROUGHT Mother’s to the McNeil Room Friday night. Hailing from Virginia, the band exhibited a talent for energetic folk rock, solemn blues, and everything in between. The quartet played to a crowd of about 200—the band’s admirers and energy were clearly too much for the usual Mother’s stage in the basement of the Union. Definitely not the usual for folk music, the upstart folk rockers Eddie From Ohio could revitalize the genre.
