To the Editor:
I’d like to send a big shout out to the fine people that run the sound system at the Houston Field House. It has to be a difficult job sitting up there, watching the hockey game, deciding what songs to play when action on the ice comes to a stop. I’m sure that pushing play on the laptop to start the song, and then pushing stop when the game restarts is a difficult task, and I admire you for it. I would guess that it’s a strenuous workout on the thumbs.
Plus, there are so many songs to choose from, I can’t even fathom how you could come to the decision of which one to play. The fact that you can do all of these things, and entertain the fans by showing up the pep band is brilliant. I mean, playing the exact same song as the pep band, right after they’ve just finished…that’s a pure stroke of genius. It ranks right up there with Carson or Letterman. I know that I wouldn’t think of trying to embarrass a group of students who are rooting for the same team that you are. I guess that’s why you’re up there, and I’m just watching the game. Anyway, you guys are awesome, keep it up. Word.
