On behalf of the Interfraternity Council, I would like to welcome everyone back to campus for the Spring semester. I hope the holidays provided relaxation for everyone, as I am certain this semester will be somewhat short of relaxing.
A good portion of the houses on campus hold a spring rush, and it will start during the first week of classes. For those of you that did not take advantage of fall rush or are interested in greek life, I strongly recommend you see what spring rush has to offer. Generally, the events are smaller in scale than fall events which is good for people who feel intimidated at the larger ones.
The IFC held elections at the end of the fall term. The new IFC president, Joe Sarrasin, can be reached at the office he shares with the Panhellenic president in the Student Government Suite of the Union. He can direct inquiries to the other members of the IFC Executive Board or provide information about greek life in general.
This semester, the IFC plans on getting more involved with campus events such as GM Week. We are planning several philanthropy events throughout the semester, both on and off campus. If any organizations are interested in working with the greek community on philanthropy or general campus events, please send an e-mail to ifc@union.rpi.edu—we look forward to working with you.
I wish everyone the best of luck during the semester and want the campus to know that our door is always open.
