Suzanne Peluso
President of the Union

Hi everyone, I hope things are going great for all of you. We are several weeks into the semester already, and the list of things to do is adding up. I’d like everyone to be aware of what’s happening right on our campus during the upcoming weekend.

The 25th annual NSBE/SHPE Career Fair is being held on October 3 and 4, from 10 am to 4 pm each day. Get your resume together and be sure to stop by the Armory during these hours to get a start on your career.

WRPI has planned a “Spinfest” for Friday, October 3 in the McNeil Room. This event will be a great opportunity to become more familiar with our student radio station. WRPI hopes to increase the involvement from RPI students.

On Sunday, the Chinese Student Association is holding their Mid-Autumn Festival in the McNeil Room. The Chinese community welcomes their family and friends to participate in the night’s events which include movies, karaoke, and dancing programs.

Support our athletic teams in their home games this weekend. Women’s soccer plays Vassar on Friday at 7 pm on the Harkness Field. The women’s tennis team is undefeated in match play, winning 5 games this season. They will compete against Plattsburgh on Saturday at 2 pm on the Sharp Tennis Courts. The varsity football team takes on Rochester on Saturday at 1 pm on the ’86 Field. They also look to continue their undefeated season thus far. The men’s hockey team features the Red & White Game and Skate with the Engineers on Saturday at 5 pm and 7:30 pm, respectively. Show some school pride and support these teams over the weekend.

There are still positions on the Executive Board open to those students who are interested. Current positions are Club/ICA representatives, for which you must have served as an officer of a club or captain of an athletics team to be allowed to hold this position. Committees, which include the constitution, budget, building, marketing, business operations, and technology, are also open to students outside of the E-Board. E-mail me at pu@rpi.edu for more information. You may also contact me at 276-8598 or stop by the GM/PU office in the Student Government Suite, Union Room 3136.
