Student feedback will help formulate E-Board’s plan of action

As the end of the year is approaching, my term is just beginning. It is with great privilege and gratitude that I am able to serve as your President of the Union. I look forward to a great year ahead of us, in which I will have the opportunity to work with and meet various students and members of the administration. I am very enthusiastic about this position, and you will find nothing less than my absolute dedication to our student government.

To everyone who gave me so much support throughout my campaign, I cannot express how thankful I am. To the members of the Apollo Party, your hard work and dedication certainly paid off and I am more than grateful. I’d also like to applaud the Rules and Elections Committee for their commitment and overall great success. In addition, the GM Week Committee deserves appreciation for a well planned week to enhance student involvement and enjoyment through this year’s elections. I would also like to thank The Poly, the IFC, and the IC for your support and consideration as I conveyed my ideas. To all the girls I live with, your support during this past week was remarkable, and it truly kept me inspired. Mike, you were an incredible running mate and I am confident of our successful year ahead. Lastly, I thank the entire student body for having trust and certainty when electing me into this position.

With just a couple weeks left in this semester, I will be appointing students for next year’s Executive Board. I would like to encourage those who are interested to fill out an application found in the Union Administration Office and sign up for an interview time slot found on the GM/PU office door in the Student Government Suite. For those who are unaware, the E-Board handles an $8.5 million budget that subsidizes all clubs, organizations, and sports funded through the Union. As an E-Board representative, you are also responsible for being in contact with specific clubs in which you provide support and financial assistance to throughout the year. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved within student affairs, and has many rewarding outcomes since you will be personally working with clubs and organizations to achieve their goals.

I look forward to working with a diverse, talented E-Board next year. I have received a variety of ideas from students during my campaign and will use these as a foundation to start our initiatives. Many students have asked for clear communication across the entire student body, and I would like to make everyone increasingly aware of the services and resources the Union provides. We will also face major budgeting issues which require strong relations with all administrations and organizations, as well as student input and suggestions. I encourage all of you to attend future E-Board meetings so that you can become aware of our responsibilities and how we operate. I will continue to use this article as a medium to keep everyone informed of activities within the Union, as well as up to date with E-Board issues.

Once again, I’d like to thank everyone for their dedication and encouragement. Always feel free to contact me or stop by my office. I look forward to working with all of you. Enjoy the end of the semester, and for those who are moving on, I wish you the best of luck.
