Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing well with their classes this last week before spring break. Hopefully, you’ll be traveling to some sandy beaches or snowy slopes, but most importantly, taking a break.
The E-Board had its regular business meeting this past Thursday. There were several business proposals on the agenda for the week. The meeting began with a presentation of a new documentation system created by the Union system administrators. The system will reduce the amount of paper flow and will enable Union clubs and organizations to easily process documents, contact club members, and communicate with RPI students more efficiently and effectively.
The first business proposal of the meeting came from the Rules and Elections Committee requesting funds to purchase shirts to be worn by members at voting locations during elections. This item had been overlooked in last year’s budgeting process and the proposal was passed by the E-Board.
The second proposal brought forth came from the Philippine American League who was requesting the reallocation of funds to a new event, the Bayanihan Banquet. The organization felt it would be more beneficial to the Rensselaer community to put on this event, and the E-Board approved the proposal.
The third and final proposal came from RPI Players who was requesting funding to put on a second spring musical. The E-Board approved the musical that the Players selected, Guys and Dolls.
As always everyone is welcome to attend E-Board meetings, which are held on Thursdays at 7:30 pm in the Patroon Room of the Union. Please feel free to send me any questions or comments to pu@rpi.edu or call 276-8598 or stop by the office in Union Room 3136.
