Hello everyone, I hope you enjoyed your long weekend and took some time to relax and take a break from class.
The Executive Board concluded its budgeting season this past Thursday with the approval of the 2003-2004 Union’s Athletic Department contribution. I would specially like to thank the Athletic Board chairman and his cabinet, the Athletic Department business operations, and also the coaches and staff. The entire department pulled together this year to create an effective and understanding budget for the next year. Hats off to you all for a job well done.
With the completion of all budgeting sessions the E-Board and Student Senate have formed a co-sponsored committee to complete the official activity fee packet in order to set the activity fee for the 2003-2004 year. This committee will be meeting over the next two weeks to complete the packet for official approval.
The semester has reached its midpoint which means GM Week isn’t too far off. This will be a week of fun events and activities, but most importantly student elections. To all those interested in seeking an elected position I encourage you to do some research and gather a good understanding of the position you plan to campaign for. This would mean attending meetings and communicating with the current officers holding the position. The best candidate for a position is an individual that has been educated on past operations and future concerns.
As always everyone is welcome to attend E-Board meetings, which are held on Thursdays at 7:30 pm in the Patroon Room of the Union. Please feel free to send any questions or comments to pu@rpi.edu, call 276-8598, or stop by my office in Union Room 3136.
