Zachary Ament
President of the Union

Hello everyone, I hope your classes are going well and you’re studying hard for your tests over the next few weeks.

Remember the Union is a 24-hour facility Sunday through Thursday for your late-night or early morning studying and projects. Also new in the Union is Frëshen’s smoothies and Starbucks coffee. If you haven’t checked it out yet, come over and try something new.

If you’re around this coming long weekend, I suggest checking out the RPI Players latest show. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the RPI Players will be presenting An Evening of Performance which is a series of three one-act plays.

The budgeting season for the Union is beginning to wrap up for the Executive Board. Everyone has worked hard throughout the entire budgeting process to be financially responsible and make the best decisions for students as a whole. I would like to thank the Executive Board and the Union administration for their dedication and drive to work through these difficult times. Also many thanks to all the clubs and organizations for working with the Executive Board to make educated decisions and your understanding with the upcoming budget year.

The E-Board finished up the club appeals this past weekend and will be hearing the Athletic Department presentation on Thursday by the Athletic Board chairman and the department budget manager. Once the athletic budget is approved, a co-sponsored subcommittee of the E-Board and Senate will be working to produce the official activity fee packet which will set the activity fee for the 2003-2004 year upon the approval of the Student Senate and the President. Once budgeting is concluded, the E-Board will be focusing on getting back to general business which includes the approval of new clubs, new programs, and tying up overall projects.
