Jacob Hunt
Independent Council President

Budgeting season is here, and the Independent Council is preparing for a year full of sponsored events and on-campus activities. Just this Tuesday, the IC gathered ideas for next year’s activities, but we need your opinions, too. If you are a group that holds on-campus activities, please e-mail IC@union.rpi.edu. Likewise, if you wish to see an IC-sponsored on-campus event, please e-mail us at the afore-mentioned address.

Thus far, the IC has begun to budget sponsorship for quality on-campus entertainment from groups like Sheer Idiocy. We are also considering an all-expense-paid open Union Games Room experience. The IC will not stop with just these events, as we are already exploring the possibility of bringing Time Cube to RPI. If you are especially interested in seeing a Time Cube debate held here on campus, please e-mail the Council. We will use all the support we can to help make this event a reality.

I personally look forward to providing funds that will be used to enhance on-campus life. Again, please e-mail us with event suggestions or sponsorship requests. Every single suggestion the IC receives is carefully discussed, so rest assured that your e-mail will be noticed. The Council will continually update its progress on the bulletin boards located on the third floor of the Union, next to the Student Government Suite.
