Men’s Soccer shuts down Farmingdale

Guzzardo, Sellito get ECAC honored

The men’s soccer team beat the Rams of Farmingdale State 2-0 on Saturday. Freshman Ed Sellito scored the first goal at 20:20 on an assist by Craig DiDomenico.

The second goal was contributed by Mike Greco at 38:00, closing out the scoring for the game.

The second half of the game was fairly quiet on both sides, although there were several fruitless attempts made on the goal by both teams.

RPI goalie Kenny Guzzardo recorded four saves, turning in a flawless game.

Guzzardo was named Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for the second week running. His save percentage is .926 for the season, with three shutouts in the books.

Sellito also earned distinction as he was named Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for his outstanding performance throughout the week. He is second in number of goals scored (four) and number of points (nine) on the team.

The game puts the Red Hawks at 6-3-2 for the season, 1-1-2 for confrence play. This weekend they will play at Hamilton on Friday.
