Panhellenic Council Fall recruitment starts this week
Posted 08-29-2002 at 12:19PM
Deanna Cochener Panhellenic Public Relations Welcome back everyone. I hope everyone had a great summer, and now it’s time to start off another spectacular year. Greek life has some great plans for the upcoming year, including a Greek Week and many philanthropy events. To kick off the year, we have some great things planned for fall rush. I encourage all of you who are not currently affiliated with a house to get out there and check it out. With so much to do, you may wonder why you should consider greek life. Greek life can provide many opportunities not found in other places. There are, of course, the social events, such as formals, parties, and mixers, but there is much more. If you are interested in community service, you might be shocked to learn that 90 percent of the community service done by students on the Rensselaer campus is done by greeks. There are also plenty of opportunities for leadership positions. Every house must have an executive board, and there are also Panhellenic and Interfraternity Executive Boards. There is also the fundamental reason greek organizations started—brother or sister hood. You will find a sense of family in any house on this campus. It can be a great support system that you know will be there. Are you questioning if greek life is right for you? Then just simply come check us out at the Activities Fair. Even if you don’t think you want to go greek, you can meet some really awesome people as well as get free food. Isn’t free food what college life is all about? Besides, you should be going to the Activities Fair anyway. College isn’t truly experienced until you get involved in something. So come meet all the clubs and greeks. We are all really excited about recruiting new members for our houses, and we’d like to get you excited too. Hope to see you there, and in the coming weeks at the houses around campus. | |
