It is not too late; become involved

Gil Valadez
Grand Marshal

Get involved! Run for office! It is not too late! I am asking students to please get involved. Even though there are no more candidate meetings, you can still run. Please do so, as your future at RPI depends on it. Contact Matt Rudary at rudarm@rpi.edu or me at gm@rpi.edu for more information.

This Senate is definitely intent on going out with a bang. Last week we drafted an amendment to the Union Constitution that is currently being refined by RNE. In my humble opinion, this amendment may serve to finally improve the communication between the administration and the students. Although, as I stated before, the amendment will work only if the administration is willing to communicate freely and openly with the student leaders, and if student leaders are committed to ensuring the meetings occur. I will keep you updated on the progress and I ask that the next GM to do the same.

Two weeks left and then I will take my post as a former Grand Marshal. I am not going to bore you with thank you’s (I will save that for next week). I am just imploring you all once again to please get involved. Run for office, come out to the debates—do anything and everything to get involved and energize this campus.

GM week is almost upon us and there are a slew of events. Check them out at www.rpi.edu/dept/union/gmweek. Good night.
