Jon Slason
Interfraternity Council Vice President for Public Relations

The new semester is here and with it comes a very exciting time for the Intra-fraternity Council. Late last semester we voted on the new IFC Executive Board. The board is comprised of John Muller of RSE as president, Jeff Andritz of Delta Tau Delta as executive vice president, Brad Zorn of Phi Sigma Kappa as vice president social, Matt Richard of Alpha Epsilon Pi as vice president of risk management, Tom Rossi of Phi Kappa Theta as vice president of recruitment, Jon Slason of Phi Mu Delta as vice president of public relations, Joseph Sochet of Phi Mu Delta as vice president philanthropy, Sahir Azam of Lambda Chi Alpha as secretary, and Bruce Elliot of Alpha Phi Alpha as treasurer.

What makes this new semester special is that the IFC has defined several distinct goals. Among these goals are the expansion of the number of greeks on campus and an increased greek unity. The E-board is also implementing a new comprehensive community service program which would include monthly events. Furthermore, this plan will increase efficiency by encouraging interfraternity cooperation for each community service endeavor.

We have begun a dramatic shift from a reactionary governmental organization to an innovative productive force ready to refocus our mission to better suit the needs of the greek community at Rensselaer. We encourage all greeks and independents of good will to abandon the apathy of the past and forge forward into a brighter future.
