On December 7, Sunhee’s Farm and Kitchen expanded their business with the grand opening of Kim’s Convenience. Located on 88 Third Street, this convenience store brings a splash of diversity to Troy. The grand opening party was open to the local public, and featured complimentary food from both Sunhee’s Farm and Kitchen and K-Plate. Released last month, Bohemian Rhapsody is a biopic of the well-known British band, Queen. The film portrays the story of how Freddie Mercury, the lead singer, came together with the other members of Queen to create a diverse palette of music. While I have listened to many of Queen’s songs, I didn’t know much about their backstory. That being said, I was hooked from the first scene and really enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody. Read more...
I had the opportunity to meet with Associate Director of the Archer Center Christine Allard following my previous opinion piece regarding the current status of career development courses in the engineering curriculum. In short, based on my experience in the industry, I feel that these courses may benefit from the incorporation of a technical perspective. My meeting with Allard was organized to further discuss potential ways to improve professional development courses organized by the Archer Center. Read more...

On November 26, the Senate met to discuss the 2018 Association of College Union International Conference at the University of Hartford. Senators Nancy Bush ’19, Advaith Narayan ’21, Jonathan Bao ’21, Vice Grand Marshal Meagan Lettko ’20, and Interfraternity Council Senator Tomas Proveneher ’21 all attended the conference on November 16. This Sunday, Troy was cast back into 19th century England. The 36th Annual Troy Victorian Stroll filled the streets with performances, decorations, people, and holiday cheer. Despite the poor weather, visitors swarmed Troy, many of whom—even children—dressed in classic 19th century clothing. Features included rides on an antique fire truck, live birds of prey, several food trucks, a pop-up market of craftsmen and vendors, and various musical displays. Local shops and eateries also took part with special seasonal offers and various events of their own. The celebration concluded with a menorah and Christmas tree lighting, accompanied by the Troy High School Concert Choir. Read more...
